Determining push-off forces in speed skating imitation drills

چکیده
Abstract Speed skating takes place on ice rinks and is, therefore, dependent seasonal conditions. To be able to train all year round, training in the summer months, when no are available, consists mainly of athletics endurance as well imitation drills. Imitation drills exercises, e.g. a slide board, which imitate actual movement. objectively evaluate quality execution these key performance indicators such push-off forces need quantified. The aim this work was determine during speed using pressure insoles combination with machine-learning methods. A board is usually not instrumented. Here, equipped force plates record target variables, i.e. forces. input variables were recorded plantar triaxial accelerometers. Seven participants took part study. Two different algorithms compared. non-linear deep neural network model linear multiple variable regression model. models trained obtained force–time curves. proved sufficient predict relative difference between measured modelled maximum remained below 5%. This approach, based mobile low-cost measurement system, allows quantitative analysis athlete’s technique/performance. Therefore, we expect instrument helpful tool for skaters.

Changes in speed skating velocity in relation to push-off effectiveness.
UNLABELLED Speed skating posture, or technique, is characterized by the push-off angle or effectiveness (e), determined as the angle between the push-off leg and the ice; the preextension knee angle (θ(0)); and the trunk angle (θ(1)). Together with muscle-power output and environmental conditions, skating posture, or technique, determines velocity (v). PURPOSE To gain insight into technical v...
متن کاملPush-off mechanics in speed skating with conventional skates and klapskates.
PURPOSE Personal and world records in speed skating improved tremendously after the introduction of the klapskate, which allows the foot to plantar flex at the end of the push-off while the full blade continues to glide on the ice. The purpose of this study was to gain insight into the differences in skating technique with conventional versus klapskates and to unveil the source of power enhance...
متن کاملDifferences of Posture on Push-off Phase between Actual Speed Skating and Slide-board Training
The slide-board training is a feasible technology to exercise skating during the off-season. While slide-board is much different from ice surface of the actual skating situation, it may distort actual skating posture. The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences in posture during push-off phase between an actual speed skating condition and on slideboard. The result showed that on th...
متن کاملFrom a One-Legged Vertical Jump to the Speed-Skating Push-off: A Simulation Study
To gain a better understanding of push-off mechanics in speed skating, forward simulations were performed with a model comprising four body segments and six muscles. We started with a simulated maximum height one-legged jump, obtained by optimization of muscle stimulation time histories. The simulated jump was very similar to one-legged jumps produced by a human, indicating that the model was r...
متن کاملEndurance in speed skating
We analyse the development of world records speed skating from 1893 to 2000 for both men and women. The historical data show that it is likely that the relation between skating speed and distance of the various events is non-linear and converges to a limit value. We pay special attention to technical innovations in speed skating, especially, the introduction of the klapskate in the 1996/1997 se...
